Class Notes
The children do Saxon Math homework each night to practice what they have learned in class that day. We also do a spelling word sheet once a week for homework and some practice lessons in class. Each month your child will bring home a reading log and the expectation for first grade is that your son/daughter will read fifteen minutes per night. This can include reading to a parent or reading to a younger brother or sister. First grade practice means that your child will gain fluency in phonics, word recognition and math facts.
