Mask Making
As part of our study of Native Americans, my third grade class makes masks. Each student decorates a mask with natural materials. Students should collect as many items from nature as possible. Shells, dried flowers, seed pods, seeds, small pieces of driftwood, stones, bones, and LOTS of feathers make each mask unique. Check out masks from previous years for ideas and start collecting your materials now. Bring in extras and trade with other students.
