Piner Elementary School

This is my first year at Piner Elementary. I am delighted to be here. Piner Elementary has wonderful staff members and students. Prior to my arrival I was teaching Second Grade. This is my fourth year teaching and my second year teaching First Grade. I have taught Kindergarten through Eighth grades.I think that every grade level is unique. I really enjoy teaching First Grade because it is when students begin to read. Guardian support and involvment is important to me. Every week I send home a weekley newsletter. Be sure to read it because it will keep you up to date on events here at school and more specifically in our classroom. Homework Policy: Students are required to read each night for 20 minutes. It is okay for you to begin the year reading to your child. As the year progresses I would like for your child to read to you more. Each week I send home a homework packet. I ask that you have your child do one page a night. Math homework is sent home daily.
